An in store promotion held by Freshpak and Die Burger recently resulted in 53% sales increase of newspapers sold on the day of the promotion. Die Burger tied in with Freshpak by handing out a box of Freshpak herbal, flavoured or green tea to consumers when purchasing the paper on the 29th of March in thirty selected Pick ‘n Pay Supermarkets.

The in-store promoters who handed out the product wore Freshpak t-shirts and Die Burger caps ensuring visibility. Die Burger advertised the promotion two days prior in the newspaper and in addition to this, street pole ads on the day were used to ensure maximum pull through in stores. Freshpak offered an iconic Freshpak tea set worth R2000 to one lucky reader.

In addition, Freshpak Rooibos also ran a consumer promotion in the same selected Pick ‘n Pay Supermarkets across the Western Cape. The promotion took place from mid February until end April. Consumers stood a chance to win one of 15 Freshpak tea sets by purchasing any of the products in the Freshpak range; which include Freshpak Baby, Freshpak Specialty teas and Freshpak Rooibos tea. They gained entry by filling in the entry form and placing it into the entry boxes at participating stores.

Freshpak marketing manager, Debi Mc Donald said that it has been really worthwhile working with Die Burger as a media partner in terms of reaching our target market.
